Born in Curaçao and later based in the Netherlands, Anton Vrede returns to Curaçao with a newly distilled visual language. Rooted in his sumi-e black and white ink drawings, his work explores how maximum expression can emerge from minimal means.
For this exhibition, Anton Vrede will create new work in Curaçao, including monumental wooden sculptures, complemented by works on rag paper. Installed in the Master Hall (Meester Zaal), the exhibition is conceived as an open and minimal setting, allowing the forms to connect with each other and with the public.
